When I turn on the plug for the scanner, the bed of the scanner lights up, that is, the scanner is well connected to the system, but what is the next step please to obtain a scan? Unfortunately, I don't have an icon for my scanner when I go to the Control Panel. Desinstala cualquier controlador que tenga instalado este escáner siguiendo estos pasos: 1. In the past, Apple has to approve the driver for the scanner before the new operating system can interact. It has been a problem for awhile whenever the OS is updated. Wait until the driver is approved before installing the Yosemite upgrade. If you upgrade before the driver gets approved, the scanner portion will not work. I cameacross this several years ago, so it is not something new to Apple and the scanners. I am Unable to install the HP photo Imaging software that came with my Hp Scanjet 3970. I keep getting ERROR Message 1402 which says Could not Open Key. I am running windows XP Pro service pack 3. The unit will scan using Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard but I want to be able to use the HP Software. I would recommend posting this in the HP Enterprise Support Forums for better coverage, as these are the consumer support forums. You can access the enterprise support forums at the following link. Most Fatal Error issues are related to an MSI installer issue. I really appreciate it! Best of luck, Kyle Hi never posted before. My HP Scanjet 4500c was wonderful under XP, printing directly to a HP Laserjet 6L. UnderVista Home Premium the scanner barely works, so I am contemplating getting a HP Scanjet 5590. The shop who sold me the PC are doubtful, mind you they assured me the 4500c would be OK! Does anyone know the answer? Don't want two useless scanners! What happens when you try connecting the scanner to your system? Do you get any error message? Which edition of Windows 7 is installed on your system? The printer you have mentioned is not compatible with Windows 7. With the scanner connected, try uninstalling the video in the Windows Device Manager and then restart Windows. Windows will reinstall the video and with the scanner still connected, if there is any interrupt conflict the Windows reinstallation of the video should take care of that. Hi, We're using HP Scanjet Enterprise 7500 Flatbed Scanners, on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. The scanner has been updated with 2 types of scannerprofiles onefor letter and legal page types which are displayed on the lcd panel of the scanner. The system will work fine throughout the day using the 1 and 2 buttons as needed. When the scanner is shut down at the end of the day and then turned on the next day, the buttons do not work. Pressing either the 1 or 2 button does not display any messages. The two profiles are displayed on the scanner's lcd panel and there are no error messages displayed either on the scanner of the computer display. The current fix is go into the HP Scanjet 7500 Scanner Tools Utility andremove both profiles and then add them back and then apply them back to the scanner. This will always work but should not have to be performed every day. Just to be sure it is not the scanner, I swapped it out with another new one and configured it with the same set up. It too has the same issue. Also tried another USB port, same results. None of our other scanjet 7500 scanners that have been set up the same way have had this issue We have about 20. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, We're using HP Scanjet Enterprise 7500 Flatbed Scanners, on Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. I have an HP scanjet 3970 for which the latest software version 8. Got specifice instructions from the nice people at HP tech and did exactly what they said. Was able to scan one document to email and then HP ScanPro freezes, cannot be forced to quit, and only will go away with restart. Upon restarting, the mouse pointer freezes. The people at HP seem oblivious to universal binary. My Mac is ungrated to Yosemite. Scanner HP Scanjet G2410 Upgrated my Mac to Yosemite and got a scanner for which I can't find any software and it doesn't work with my computer. Everywhere it says if I had my software installed on my Mac before the update it should continue to work. But I didn't have it beforethe update so now I can only find software for OS 10. IS there a way I can get my scanner working? Please solve my problem. Regards, Sumeet Kumar I am in the process of transferring to a new system running Windows Home Premium 64 bit, prior to this I had everything on a Windows XP system. I first had the Scanjet 3970 and then later added the Officejet 6310, when I did this everything was controlled through the HP Solution Center with a tab for each device. Prior to the addition of the Officejet 6310, everything for the Scanjet 3970 was handled through the HP Photo Imaging Director. I had to come to on the site to get the software for the Officejet 6310 for Windows 7 64 bit, and I have searched on the internet and have found that the Scanjet 3970 isn't compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know if I add the Scanjet 3970 will it appear in the HP Solution Center with a tab as it did before? I used the Scanjet 3970 for scan negatives and 35mm slides, along with the usual stuff, if the Scanjet 3970 won't work with Windows 7 64 bit can somebody recommend another HP Scanner with the TMA Transparent Materials Adapter for negatives and slides? Hi,I am using Captiva input accel 5. In this i am using kodak patch codes patch 2 and patch t with kodal i 80 scanner. Suddenly there is a change of hardware scanner in my deployment ionvironment instead of kodal i 80 they are using the scanner- HP Scanjet 8290 Digital Flatbed Scanner C9933A Does this HP scanner supports this Kodak Patch Codes pathc 2 and Patch-T. Regards,Rajashankar I have tried VueScan with my HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One. It works well, better in fact than the scanning software from HP. The scanning software from HP clips off the ends of documents scanned through the automatic document feeder, doesnt always scan to the size I set it to, messes up the page sizes of PDFs, and changes the resolution of documents without warning. VueScan suffers from none of these: in Guide Me mode, VueScan does what you expect it to; in Advanced mode, VueScan does what you tell it to which may not be what you meant. In Guide Me mode, VueScan is easy to use. In Advanced mode, VueScan has a plethora of options and settings in a bewildering layout that does not behave in the way one would expect of a Macintosh application. In my limited amount of testing, the OCR built into VueScan is not quite as accurate as that built into the HP software. Both VueScan and HP's software have far better OCR than the abysmal OCR in Presto Pagemanager. VueScan seems to be originally a Windows app. It has no support for AppleScript nor for Automator. As such, it is not useful if you are wanting to automate any document processing; not even an easy way that I can see to save different settings for different types of documents. Message was edited by: PeterSchoenrank Hi everybody! I bought the mentioned scanner approx. Now when I scan anything -e. Is the device a junkpile and I have to buy another one or it can be repaired somehow? Yep, my image scanning software keeps crashing. According to other questions in the forums, It looks like the change to Leopard has made many of the HP Scanjet scanner software not work properly and from reading more posts, it sounds like HP is not updating the drivers. I would like ot continue to think that they're just behind. I Have a Scanjet 3570. Can anyone guide me to a driver for Windows 7 for a HP Scanjet flatbed scanner 3970? I have the original cd, checked the hp-site etc. HP-stie doesn't have drivers for this thing beyond Windows Vista.... It must be possible because on my previous laptop the thing worked. Now I can't find the driver. The hardwaresupport cant find the device-driver, etc. I'm stuck with a good functioning but old scanner and a computer that can't reach it. I had to re-install the above mentioned software which was an update to the software version 2. The program will not open now. As it stands now, my scanner is useless. Can anyone offer any suggestions? When I scan a coloured photograph, I get light coloured horizontal lines approx 2mm apart across the complete scan. These show up primarily on the dark colours. Different resolution settings and software make no difference. I have checked belt tension, cleaned the guide and given the lamp extra warm up time. Black and white scans appear okay. I can only assume the lamp or the power supply is the way out. Is this the case and if so are they replaceable? I suffered the same problem when scanning both colouredandblack white images. Another person, with the same fault, found that if he powered the scanner from a 12V car battery rather than the HP power source, there were no horizontal lines inscanned images. Hegot a replacement HP power source on E-Bay and achieved the same result. Encouraged, I plugged and unplugged the connection between tht HP power source and the scanner several times and then ran the self test. Hey presto, all my scanned coloured and bw images are now free of horizontal lines and the image files are considerably smaller!

But the disc for the scanjet does not support windows 8. The company once was great, but nowI don't know how they la in business. I visited the HP Support and I was asked to select my operating system from a drop-down list but Windows 8. Can anyone guide me to a driver for Windows 7 for a HP Scanjet flatbed scanner 3970. I have since changed prime and running under Windows 7 but can not have this Scanner work under it. Now when I scan anything -e. I tried the VueScan software earlier and had no luck.
